You are a Whosoever.

Do you have any idea how much God loves you? Yes, you, God loves you. Can you believe it? We often feel unworthy of such love. We brush it off by the nice things we say and the good things we do, claiming, I’m a good person, of course God loves me. But did you know that his love is not biased? He doesn’t love you because you’re a “good person.” He loves you even though you are not always a good person, you are not perfect.

Because what we consider a “good person” could never match up with God’s standards of perfection, being a good person cannot be the deciding factor for eternity. Many think they will go to heaven when they die because they were a “good person.” These people are sadly mistaken.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 (emphasis added).

Great. We can’t do it on our own. Then what?

God loves us so much, he provided the answer through his son. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (emphasis added). You are a whosoever.

But, you ask, how can God love me if I’m a sinner? God doesn’t love people any less because of their sin. Their sin does not determine how much God loves them. Your sin does not determine how much God loves you.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8.

That’s it. That’s all you need to know. That’s all there is to it. Know that God loves you no matter what, but because he loves you so much, he wants to be with you forever. God is so romantic. He sent his son to die so you could live. Even if you were the only one on the earth in that moment, he would have still sent his son to die for you, because you are a whosoever. That’s powerful. That’s life-changing. That’s revolutionary. That’s who God is.
